A community-owned Masterton property is in line for a new lease of life with plans underway for Wairarapa’s Māori health service, Whaiora, to relocate there. The former Cosmopolitan Club building at 402 Queen Street, owned by Masterton Trust Lands Trust, will be redeveloped for lease to Whaiora.

Our vision is: Wairarapa – He Waiora (Wairarapa – A Place of Wellness)
Whaiora offers a wide range of kaupapa hauora Māori services to our Wairarapa community:
- a Very Low Cost Access Medical Centre for Masterton residents (low fees)
- a wide range of whānau and tamariki services between Pukaha Mt Bruce and Remutaka Ranges (at no cost to you), and we are able to visit you at your home
Kaikōkiri waiora, our wellness professionals, include GPs, registered nurses, qualified social workers, educators and community health workers. You will receive quality health, education and/or social services from our caring, friendly professionals who work beside you to help you become well and stay well. We can support you and your whānau to become part of this vision by walking with you along a path to wellness.
Whaiora services are private and confidential. We support your choices to improve and manage your health. Sometimes this means working with you to make a plan to keep you on track. Information to support you to follow your plan is provided and we can help you to receive a range of other support services.
While we operate from a uniquely Māori base, our services are available to all.
